About me
I study international business, and I spent six months on a factory floor in Michigan learning how one actually runs. I got there by an unusual route. Pukyong National University (PKNU) lets exchange students apply to only one university; I got approval to study at two, a first for the school. Then I found that J-1 Academic Training (practical training tied to my major) was an option no PKNU exchange student had used, got both international offices on board, and worked with them until PKNU and Wayne State, my host school in Detroit, signed an agreement for it. I was approved to stay on. The job it led to: Quality Control at an automotive Tier-1 supplier — floor audits, document control, rework counts. The work was fine; the paperwork around it wasn't. I scoped a replacement with the QC manager, got executive sign-off, built it, and trained the supervisors who use it now.
That became a contract. I registered a business in Korea and Hansae Mobility USA retained me — writing SOPs, closing out the project, and maintaining the system with their QC and IT teams from Busan. I work the analysis side too: a Sweden market-entry study for an AI hardware product, first prize in a trade and logistics competition run by the Busan Port Authority, and this year a city big-data entry on why older commercial districts stop turning over. I'm looking for business development work where knowing the operation is an advantage, not a detour.
